We love the Macleay Street lifestyle

Small but full of people (and life), Potts Point sits on a ridge east of Woolloomooloo, west of Elizabeth Bay and north of Darlinghurst. The place is home mostly to young professionals aged between 20 and 39.

Potts Point is visually something to behold, with a variety of different architectural periods and styles. Georgian mansions crown the suburb’s highest elevations, watching over the art deco buildings constructed between 1920 and World War II. It’s also home to two of the finest Streamline Modern buildings in Australia: the Minerva (or Metro) Theatre, and the Minerva Building in Orwell Street. It is now considered one of Sydney’s most expensive suburbs, with many Macleay Street apartment buildings achieving record prices.

The Kings Cross precinct takes up part of Potts Point, which became a popular destination for US sailors on R&R from the nearby naval facility. But while this gave the area an unsavoury reputation, Kings Cross has been thoroughly gentrified in recent years, and is now better known for its lively nightclub scene.
